After brewing Pious Monk Dunkel, I was looking for an easier lager recipe. Something that was going to be a little more forgiving. I had Northern Brewer hops on hand. I had also picked up a packet of San Francisco Lager (WLP810) yeast at Lancaster Homebrew a few weeks prior. And I had the recipe from the December 2014 issue of BYO magazine. Ordered the rest of the ingredients from MoreBeer and it was time to brew.
I used California Select 2-row from Great Western Malting. It seemed very appropriate for this beer. The hops came from Hops Direct. The rest of the ingredients I had on hand.
Over all this turned out to be a very faithful clone. I’m definitely going to brew this again. Though probably when it’s a little cooler outside.
